洪子诚，1939年4月生，广东揭阳人。1956年就读于北京大学中文系文学专业。1961年毕业后，留校任教至今。现为中文系教授，博士生导师。主要著述有《当代中国文学概观》、《当代中国文学的艺术问题》、《作家的姿态与自我意识》、《中国当代文学史》、《1956：百花时代》、《问题与方法》等。与人合著有《中国当代新诗史》、《中国当代文学史料选》、《两意集》等。
